    Get grounded. Connect with the Earth today. Set your intention to release lack or instability in any area of your life, and transmute it to abundance and a deep sense of contentment and ease. If you are able, stand outside barefoot, hug a tree, or run your hands through some soil. This will help you to get connected.     Root chakra energizing foods:
    • Any red or dark brown colored food or drink.
    • Any foods that have an earthy taste or a ‘grounding’ quality.
    • Root vegetables: carrots, potatoes, turnips, parsnips, radishes, beets, onions, garlic, etc.
    • Herbs & Spices: Burdock, Cloves/clover, Dandelion, Rosemary, horseradish, hot paprika, chives, cayenne, pepper
    Anatomical location: Base of the tailbone, spine or coccyx; the perineum (between the anus and genitals)
    Organs: kidneys, adrenals, spine, feet
    Body systems: Reproductive Organs; immune system, large intestines, Lymph system; skeletal system (teeth and bones); Reproductive organs; prostrate gland (male); bladder and excretory systems; lower extremities (legs, ankles, feet)

    Suggested raw juice:
    1 small beet rubbed and peeled
    2 red apples
    1/2 inch of ginger

    Scrub and peel your beets to take off all the dirt from the skin before processing through your juicer. Juice the apples and ginger next. Maybe try substituting ginger essential oil for the root instead. Pour into a glass, then stir in your essential oils. Enjoy!

    Alternative juice (one serving):

    1 Beet peeled and chopped
    3/4 Cup Fresh Raspberries
    1 Cup Frozen Strawberries
    Juice of 2 Blood Oranges
    Splash of water

    Combine all ingredients in a blender; mix until smooth.Enjoy!

    Vegan Meal:

    1 yellow onion, diced
    1 tbsp. unrefined coconut oil
    1 medium sweet potato or yam
    1 1/2 knob of fresh ginger, peeled
    1 tsp sea salt
    2 cups unsweetened coconut milk
    1 cup low-sodium vegetable broth
    1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
    1 tsp. curry powder
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
    a few sprigs parsley
    2 tbsp. unsweetened coconut milk yogurt
    4 medium carrots, peeled

    1. In a large pot set at medium heat, warm coconut oil and begin sautéing onion, carrots, sweet potato, ginger, and garlic. Stir occasionally for 10 minutes or until the onion is translucent.
    2. Add vegetable broth, coconut milk, salt, pepper, nutmeg, cinnamon, and curry. Bring pot to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer, cover the pot, and allow the vegetables to cook in the liquid for 15-20 minutes, or until the carrots and sweet potato are fork tender.
    3. Remove pot from heat and decant into a high-speed blender. Purée soup until nice and creamy.
    4. Serve into bowls and garnish with a dollop of coconut yogurt and sprig of parsley.

    Agreed! There is so much fear and anxiety in the world today that can be managed by balancing the chakras – beginning with the root chakra.
